Range of Boats New to the UK!

Nick Stratton Yachts are delighted to be appointed agents for the Minor Offshore power boat brand.

Minor Offshore are new to the UK. They are built in Finland and are ideal for those who love being at sea irrespective of the weather conditions - they are solid and safe and each one is tested at sea under real-life conditions. In fact, they are a preferred option for emergency services and commercial applications, where the boat is tailored to the customer’s specifications.

The Minor Offshore boats are categorised as B-Offshore vessels, which means they can cope with strong winds and high waves. They are also the most silent boats on the market!

We are very excited about the range and are sure they’ll be well received in the UK. The quality of build and internal fit out is exceptional and with the all-weather protection and the safety features on board, these boats are ideal for all year round usage. This helps spread the cost of boating over more months of enjoyment.

Nick Stratton Yachts image Nick Stratton Yachts lead the fleet in their A31 cruiser racer

January 2011

2010 saw huge success again for Archambault’s A31 worldwide, with Nick Stratton Yachts’ crew beating off stiff competition to triumph in local regattas.

Nick Stratton Yachts Director, Miles Stratton and his A31 “Imadjinn” topped the Scottish sailing regattas with another season of outstanding results.

The A31 scooped first overall prize in the Savills/Kip Regatta 2010, with firsts also in the Old Pulteney Scottish IRC Regatta 2010, the Scottish two-handed round the islands race 2010 and the GSS Regatta 2010.

Miles and the crew were delighted to be awarded the prestigious Zinita Salver trophy from the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club for ‘Best Performance in Clyde Regatttas’ and the Shaw Stewart Trophy for ‘Overall Performance by a member’.

The Rhu-based yacht club also awarded “Imadjinn” two further cups, the “East Patch Salver” and the “Sandham Cup” at the annual prizegiving.

Archambault is proving itself a hugely exciting range of French built yachts. They are at the cutting edge of cruiser racing and have a suite of high class IRC racers and handicap boats to match the best.

In Spain this month, Archambault’s A31 “lean and mean” won one of the most popular regattas in the country, the “300 Millas a Tres".

Wednesday 13th January 2010

Archambault are delighted to announce that manufacturing has begun this month on the first M34, the new performance one-design yacht being commissioned for the Tour de France a la Voile.

The M34 replaces the Mumm 30 which has been used for the past 12 years and will continue as the boat of choice for the next 10 year term.

Archambault’s IRC racing yachts – the A40rc, A35 and A31 – are looking forward to another triumphant season in 2010. Last year, the “A” boats enjoyed outstanding success throughout the world in major regattas.

A clear win in the Solent-based IRC nationals Class 2 for the A35 “Waterjet” opened the door for the brand new A31, Nick Stratton Yachts’ “A neet djinn” to hoover up the chocolates in the Scottish IRC fleet with a string of bullets and OVERALL victory.

The introduction of the A31 in the early spring 2009 with wins in Spi West has led to solid sales deliveries of over 30 new A31’s including the first into the Solent.

Fifty-five regatta wins accumulated in 2009 in varied regattas between the “A” boats, A40rc, A35 and A31 encompassing the Australian Audi IRC nationals to a Class win in the prestigious Rolex Fastnet Race.

Nick Stratton Yachts image Major Yachting Coup for Archambault

July 27 2009

Archambault has won the contract to build the next international one-design raceboat for the Tour de France a la Voile.

The M34 will replace the Farr 30 (formerly Mumm) which has been used for the past 12 years.

It was chosen from a shortlist of three finalists after Tour organisers received 23 design submissions from nine nations. Rarely does the Tour change boats, with only three yachts being used in the past 26 years.

The design brief demanded a construction strong enough to last at least 10 years at the top. It also required easy transportation by road, a reasonable draft to enter into ports, no more than five to six crews, and a retractable sprit for an asymmetrical spinnaker.

Archambault’s IRC racing yachts – the A35, A40rc and brand new A31 – are enjoying outstanding success throughout the world in major regattas.

The French company has 60 employees and builds 120 boats a year. All have full vinylester laminate, lead keels, vacuum-bagged hulls and resin-infused decks. Details are yet to be released on the M34’s construction.

This appointment reinforces Archambault’s position as a force to be reckoned with in race boat production.

Nick Stratton Yachts image A31 Turns Heads at IRC Championships

June 2009

Nick Stratton Yachts sailed to victory in their brand new Archambault 31, "aneet Djinn" in the Old Pulteney Scottish IRC Championships at Largs.

Nick, Miles and crew won both Class 3 and the Overall trophy, with a score line of four 1st places and a discarded 2nd.

The A31 follows on from the success of the A35. Just like her big sister she is setting the stage for a successful season.

At her opening regatta in Spi Ouest 2009 (France's biggest IRC regatta) the A31 "Team Winds B&G" finished 1st and the A31 "Too Jaws" finished 2nd, never finishing out of the top 3 places in a 38 boat fleet.

Nick Stratton Yachts Ltd. are the Northern UK importers for Archambault. This famous French Racing Yacht manufacturer came to light in the 2006 Commodores cup where their A35 "Parprec" won the small boat class and finished 2nd overall in all classes.

Since then the UK has seen various successes including the recent class 2 win for the A35 Water Jet at the UK IRC National Championships 2009 in class, missing the overall prize due to a collision on the last day.
